Undergraduate Degree Programs Online Application

Undergraduate Programs

Application Checklist:

  • To be considered for a the BA in Film degree program, you must have a transferable AA Degree or equivalent college experience (90 credits).

  • APPLICATION and application fee (fee waived if applying online!)
  • APPLICATION ESSAY: Personal Essay: A short personal essay (250-1000 words) consisting of your autobiography and your plans for the future. If you’d like to discuss specific points, please tell us a little about who you are, how you became interested in filmmaking and what you hope to get out of this program. We encourage you to write your essay in a word processing program. When you are done writing, you can either attach the essay file to this application or copy the essay into the text entry box below.
  • TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION, The two letters of recommendation can be from people who know you and your background on a personal level or they may come from current or former teachers, guidance counselors, or employers. Please include the names of those writing your letters in the form below. If you have not decided on whom you wish to write your letters, you can leave the section blank. The letters of recommendation may be submitted by email:

  • TRANSCRIPTS: An official transcript from any and all colleges/universities attended. You don't need to include the transcripts with this application, you can submit this application before we recieve the transcripts.
    This includes original transcripts from any institution where you might have taken credits that later transferred to another school. Whenever possible, your transcripts should come directly to the our Undergraduate Admissions Office from the college/university of origin.

A personal essay of approximately 250 to 1000 words about yourself and your hopes and plans for the future is required with the application submission. We encourage you to write your essays in a word processing program and make full use of spell check. Once finished you can either attach the essay file to this application, or copy the essay text into the text entry box below.

The Admissions Committee considers this essay the most important document in your application so it should not be a self-promoting autobiographical account. The focus should be on particular motives, attitudes, and desires that lie behind your urge to pursue your creative and professional goals. If appropriate, you should also define what special interests and strengths you would bring to the program.

Alternatively, you may attach a file of your essay that you have composed separately. PDF file, or MS Word .doc or plain text files are all acceptable. If you prefer, you may mail your essay directly to us at our postal address.
