International Film Students
SFI welcomes film students from all over the world. During previous years international students have come from Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Finland, Great Britain, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, The Philippines, Taiwan, and Turkey.
The Seattle Film Institute is authorized by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enroll foreign students. After admission into a program at Seattle Film Institute, international applicants will need to acquire a student visa to study in the United States. Seattle Film Institute will provide the necessary documentation to receive a visa.
For the Master of Music in Film Composition program, TOEFL is required for all international students (unless you have earned your undergraduate degree from an English speaking university, college, or school). Our institution code is B443.
- 100-120 - Accepted
- 80-99 - Accepted if scores for each section are not below 20
- 79 or below - Applicant may request an interview to prove English language competency
For all other SFI programs, TOEFL is not mandatory for international students. The Admissions office may require TOEFL in cases where an applicant's English competency cannot be assessed from the application and essay.
